Does it really make any difference? Even without the angel DEM was always superior to Ratatoskr. Remember how Ellen was able to sneak inside Shidou's house with ease? Ellen also implied in the same scene they are constantly watching Shidou and the others. It's pretty simple to understand and there is no plot holes or asspulls so far, the only confusing arc would be the one involving time travel but it shouldn't be a problem if you know and understand the basis for time travel, timelines and paradoxes also the MC powers are not that special, if anything I would say they are worthless.
