It was interesting and kept me wanting to watch the next episode. There were things going on. Though the back-and-forth with Regina felt a bit stretched when watching weekly.
You should try rewatching the first ~two episodes of Doki. It feels very different from GoPri and HaCha.
I want another series similar to Yes 5. I think it had by far the best character development and interactions which was amazing given the size of the group. No one got left out.
Also, many of the monsters were creative and fun.

It's interesting, and more than anything, it's cohesive. It knows where it's going, and it goes there. Its themes resonate throughout in actions and events rather than being asserted at individual points with words. Its characters act in accordance with their unique personalities which gradually change over time rather than 180ing for the direction of a focus episode.
In short, it's a well-made series. Petty complaints by folks motivated by who they think is the cutest don't actually matter.

It hasn't exceeded any expectations. The characters are still in the same place that they were forty episodes ago. None of the characters have done anything interesting or tried anything new. The dreams haven't changed or been modified, and every character episode has been focusing on that character's complicated feelings with that simple one-dimensional dream. This makes for a series of boring episodes that only illustrate how flat the side characters are.
And Haruko is extremely bland. Bland: the character. Her dreams are nebulous, her abilities are foggy and not well-explored, plus her episodes are the only ones that seem to advance the plot in any meaningful way. So we get the most boring character being the drive for the whole show.
I'm not saying GoPri is BAD, but denying that it's very bland and safe will require some explanation.
Even if you think that it's only my opinion that it's bland and safe, We can see this empirically if we follow the livewatch threads. We haven't had a livewatch thread hit autosage within the broadcasting period in about two months now. This is even with using discussion threads as livewatch threads. Discussion threads that are at 300+ posts already.
Even Hacha did better than that. HaCha is by NO MEANS better or even as exciting as GoPri, but it's proof that we've had enough. We're burned out on GoPri.

Hell, it has stronger week-to-week continuity than any other season, with close to half of the episodes being directly connected to the one(s) before and/or after them. That was part of what made it so exciting to livewatch; it was full of cliffhangers and ongoing plot threads, and multiple episodes often occurred within the same in-universe day.
It was the random one-off episodes like Rosetta in Space or Aguri Learns to Eat Carrots that were the least interesting, though they were still quite entertaining.

Lock was really good for a while. He was a cheeky asshole and pulled some really entertaining stuff like stealing the precures' abilities to transform. And Shut has always been fun.
But Close was never more than okay, and now he's the absolute most boring villain in the franchise, Dyspear used to be cool when she was an abusive mother but now she's just meh, and the robot duo was a completely missed opportunity. And twilight was great, obviously, but she's a cure now.

It's true the last few episodes had some changes. That said, those changes themselves were boring and mundane.It's been forty five episodes and only at the end do we get some kind of change that might affect the characters in some way.
That's not worth it, nor does it forgive having to wait a year for any of the characters to become their own. Changing it at the end so no one has to see how the characters change is a very 'safe' way of doing it. It means they don't have to show it affecting them.

It's not like Minami's dream changed in the course of the last two episodes alone, she's been mulling about it for almost the entire season.
Kirara's dream has gone through several iterations, too. From merely wanting to walk the runway with her mother to wanting to surpass her outright.
And Haruka's been trying to figure out what it means to be a princess and what she really needs to do to achieve her dream.
You know why the changes seem predictable? Because they've been foreshadowed for several episodes.
Because the show has some actual competent writers that don't go for shock plot twists.

Nice fanfiction, but no. If you want a show with long-term development, you're two years too late. GoPri absolutely falls into the weak writing trap of having change localized to specific episodes. When you can cut half the episodes and lose nothing in clarity, that's not a slow burn, it's a standstill.

Almost all of that only happened within the last two episodes. It was made that way because they only have a few episodes left.
You want to know what would have been a GOOD way to include that growth in the season? Make all those changes happen at the mid-season finale. Then we would get to see how it affected their characters.
But that wouldn't be very safe. It would mean having to re-write their character interactions. So they didn't do it. I don't see how this conflicts with anything I said other than you're angry that I don't find it the most interesting thing in the world.

Close has been the most ruthless of the three so far and not even close at being the most boring villain in the entire franchise. His personal rivalry with Flora has been great and has delivered multiple great moments. Out of all of this, all I really remember fondly is Ranko and the brave donut.
Everything else is a blur because it was either another Precure thing that another season had or wasn't very remarkable or impactful to the series.
I mean, yeah. They're good things to have happen. But that doesn't make GoPri memorable. If I said "Remember that time the villain dueled against the Pink and then joined them?" I would think of Fresh, not GoPri.
