It was good. But to say that it's unparalleled is an insta-gvieaway of someone who hasn't watched enough shit. If your argument is that the writing, pacing, characterization and dynamics make it the global maxima, then no. Card Captor Sakura does all that. Dissapearance does all that.
Motherfucking Love Lab did all that.
Depth is relative. And in the case of Bebop, it's "depth" is poignancy. Does no other anime carry any depth? Not Planetes? Not Honneamise? Not even Porco Rosso? Canon Fodder, Patlabor 2 (as much shit as it gets for deviating from the source-feel). And that's just anime. Manga is a whole 'nother beast.
In conclusion, despite being an entry-level piece, Bebop is pretty good. But to say that is unparalleled is moronic.
