Not him, but Nisio's wordplays are really nothing special. While I enjoy Monogatari, I can admit there are a number of moonrune writers who can easily outwit Nisio in wordplay department. Nisio's wordplay is just on a casual level that can be digested by LN readers who are teenagers in majority.
Nisio's strength is in his stylized long-winded writing, but even that quirk is nothing to write home about as compared to the entirety of Japanese literature medium.
