I read somewhere that interprets Nyarlathotep as less evil than most other creatures because at the very least, it acknowledges human beings. Yes, it tricks and hurts humans. But at least it gave a damn about humans as individuals. Most other supernatural beings barely considers humans as snowflakes or grains of sand.

Original Nya is a trickster being. Like most creatures in Lovecraft we never find out why it does what it does. But it is at least sociable and interact with humans. Even if it ended up hurting and killing people in some way.

I really was hooked by the feeling of the first episode. Nyaruko felt really cute but also very sinister. I wish it didn't devolve into some shitty harem with a lovecraftian coating. I never finished the second season.
