Thoughts on Pokemon The Origins?
My brother watches pokemon indigo league on netflix. He's 23.
I've never watched it myself because it seems too childish.

The Pokemon anime is like Dragon Ball Z. It's not actually good, but the nostalgia is so strong if you watched it as a kid that you end up still loving it even after realizing it's pretty shitty.

If it didn't come out at the same time as God-tier XY, it probably would be remembered a bit more fondly by people who haven't cared about Pokemon in 15 years and opinions don't really matter.

Wasted potential.
It was a fine opportunity to have a poke anime without Ash, perhaps even a proof of concept for a PokeSpe adaptation.
Literally all they had to do was two or three gym battles an episode but instead we got Muh spooky marowak for one fourth of the OVA and Mega Zard Pandering: The Commercial Experience.
I could extend my suspension of disbelief far enough to ignore Jolteon getting OHKO'd by a 30 SpA electric move but ultimately it just really didn't execute well.

It varies from part to part. A lot of the third game and remake sections (Fire Red/ Leaf Green, Platinum, Heart Gold/ Soul Silver) go by way too fast, there isn't enough buildup and they introduce characters that you don't really get to know. The other parts are really good though.

Aside from the episode done by OLM, the animation was vastly inferior to the TV serie. Pretty disappointing when it was an OVA.
It's pretty good, but a little too fast paced, as expected.
