I like it a lot, many character driven episodes like Mine Fujiko but with none of the pretentiousness, red jacket-style goofy but serious when it needs to be. Also, overarching plot.

It's definitely my AOTY. It's definitely striking a strong balance between every tone that Lupin's ever had. It's adventurous and whimsical without being too soft or too goofy, and there's an edge to it without being overwhelming or bleak.
So, Discotek just announced that they are going to release all of the red jacket series on DVD.
Hopefully somebody will make an easily downloadable batch now, because I gave up trying to keep up with the subfuckery after 3 episodes.

I think /a/ is at that point where only series that get subtitles right after the episode airs in Japan are going to get much coverage.
You know I really thought they were going to fuck up the series. Fujiko was a nice departure, but green/red jacket Lupin was the heart of the series. I happen to love everything Italian and frankly I think this series does a FANTASTIC job of bringing lupin into the modern times.

It's good and fun but it feels like it could be better if it was more daring. The best episodes so far are Jigen's (the one with the doctor lady) and Goemon's (the one with the assassin girl).

For this one? Nah. They would enjoy the winks and references, but Lupin's always episodic in nature. This and Fujiko to iuna are the only ones that have had an overarching plot throughout the season.
