Honneamise is the only salvageable anime that came out from Gainax, and maybe Nadia/Abenobashi.

Impressive work for a small studio but ultimately suffers from the same syndrome as most Gainax shows, it's almost entirely made up of pop culture references instead of original content.
Sure, it's fun to look up at all the quotes and references and most of those are rather cute , especially the Star Wars section, but it in the end it can barely stand on its own as a product, it doesn't really have a soul of its own or anything to speak of.

Man, Daicon is like a 5-10 minute short. I have no idea how anything of much worth can ever be crammed into such a short time frame.
That and that other music video thing Khara made are neat and fun to watch for a little bit, but there is zero depth to them.
