Honestly, the only real good part of Love Live was at the beginning, when it was only the initial trio and they barely had any audience. After that, Love Live lost pretty much all tension. Second season was especially bland, nothing really distinguishing it from your general slice of life.
The worst part of Love Live was that all the songs sucked, and the dance animation was terrible. What should have been the climaxes of the show ended up being much more bland than they should have been because of the poor quality of the songs and the incredibly poor quality of the animation.
However, despite these problems, I really enjoyed it.
