The way Trunks handles 18 is like so awesome. He doesn't go "Ka me ha me".. He just puts his hand up to her and says "this is for Gohan HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" and she blows into a million pieces. He lacks vanity, and just fights to win, not to see what an enemy is capable, and doesn't stall.
