This was a very good anime, one of my all time favorites. Shame it remained underappreciated on /a/ because the early threads turned into a religious debate shitfest so everyone left.
The ''rape'' wasn't graphic nor had any real, lasting consequences on the plot. Cross Ange had a much stronger rape scene in the first episode, yet it didn't attract as much shitposting.
