Meh. I watched it when everyone was praising it as "the new anime movie standard" a couple years back. Expectations aside, I found the overall result to be somewhere between decent and mediocre.
The animation was pretty good all around. Fluid and giggly come to mind when describing it. Our War Games: Part II is cool like that.
That said, the plot is average at best, and I didn't care for the mother or sister enough to really feel bad for either throughout the story. As for the son, he's an obnoxious little loner shit. Why does anyone care about him? Why does anyone relate to him? Stop pretending you're special and that life is forcing you to be someone you're not. I don't give a crap that he didn't fit in or shit. Little fucker acted like a bitch all day every day. Fuck that kid, hope he gets hit by a car.
Overall, worth watching for the animation, but not sure if I'd stick it out through the second half again. Seriously. Fuck that kid.
