There is also more, even though Saitama is the strongest, there is a progression, which has to do with his fame and acceptance as a hero, and you want to root for him, cut he deserves it.
While you know how he will beat everyone eventually, there is still something you are looking forward too.

I think it's pretty likely for it to be continued, not just very soon I'm afraid. For it to be continued it needs the Garou arc or at least more of it as there is now. In Muratas version and I don't think this arc will be finished for another 2 or 3 years, at least at the pace it is going currently. You might fill another 12 episodes with the stuff we already have but seeing as they've scraped a lot of "filler" stuff alreaedy I don't see this happening.

I haven't caught up with OPM yet but from what I've read/seen (I'm watching the anime & reading the ONE version because I like his weird wonky style) the "ONE JOKE MAN XD" thing is mostly bullshit. I'd think it was just a troll but it actually isn't as I've heard "professional comic critics" make literally the exact same comment.
The story and its humor seem different from what I expected given the fanbase. It's not a "LOL SO RANDOM AND EPIC XD" thing but it's also not just a distanced mockery of super heroes or fighting shonen; if anything ONE clearly enjoys that stuff.
I'd say that from what I've read it spends a lot of time satirizing sensationalism, fame and the idea of being "the best". Basically I'm seeing waaay more social satire than "LOL super heros are fucking stupid". Which is kinda funny given how obsessed the fanbase is with power level debates (and no, it's not just the "anime fags" who are guilty of this, I've seen people do this shit for years)
