The manga was a fanservice fest that made no sense, still better than the OVA that wasted precious minutes on the imouto sob story. Also, it's supposed to say that the manga is canon when that same scene with Erwin stopping Levi's blade is also in the VN. Anyway, acwnr as a whole was pretty bad, especially the 2 fodders Farlan and Isabel. They tried to recreate the emotion behind manlet's team dying in S1 but it didn't work because these 2 characters were so random, you felt nothing for their death.

I just laughed at him crying over their deaths, because I couldn't believe in their amazing love and friendship. I think, it would have been more believable to have him cry over his dead dog.
