Broadcast order is kinda shit, The Episode guy appears without any introduction in Tsubasa Tiger. A few years later, after you forgot about him, he reappears again in Shinobu Mail. Then you go to /a/ and find out it takes place at the same time of Tsubasa Tiger. Then you learn that the guy should be introduced in Kizu which will never come in your life time.

Yeah, the characters are great. It's all about the characters and the style. It's one of the few animes that I've considered buying. Only thing a bit annoying is that the amount of echhi would be enough to throw non-anime fans off and it's a show I really would like to introduce to others. If you like that though, you'll enjoy.

Seeing the side by side comparisons here, it's not clear if the fan translation is super simplified, or the official is fluffed up, it's probably the former.
If you read the fan translation it will be over before you know it. That's what I did, and it felt incredibly rushed and lacked immersion. I read the words, but it didn't form a complete picture in my mind. The fluffed up official translation in the english novel should be (i'm hoping) a more immersive experience.Mine shipped today apparently, now I wait for the American postal service to fuck up the delivery somehow.

Well, the standard of translation for Literature is a multi-year passion project by a university professor where they have the time, skills, and understanding to quibble over every bit of nuance and meaning they can find. Commercial translations can't afford that.
