So, should I go with the anime or the manga?
>>
>>134640392
Go for broke, do both.
>>
>>134640911
I don't think I'll live long enough to be able to do that.
>>
>>134640392
http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Anime#
anime plus skip filler episodes. Then watch filler movies/ episodes if you want. Also watch OVAs.
>>
I prefer the manga, but I more enjoyed the animated version of some events (like Halloween Party, ep. 345). Maybe you can go with the manga and watch the anime during Black Organization arcs (although in the beginning the anime changed some things). Reading the manga will also save your time because usually three chapters (usual lenght of a case) are divided in two episodes..
>>
>>134640392
I would've said anime a while ago, but it's just so saturated with filler TV Originals now that I'd just wait for the manga
>>
>>134642334
What do you mean wait for the manga? It's ahead of the anime and the translation is caught up too.
>>
>>134642634
I meant there's new anime literally every week whereas manga comes out in fits and spurts
>>
It's a mystery manga. If you want to play along with the mystery the manga is better as you can focus on pages and try and work it out.
>>
>>134640392
The anime has a amazing ost.
>>
>>134642722
>Look to find what the newest opening and closing themes are

>They're covers of openings 3 and 4 respectively

I don't think I can approve
>>
Start with the anime, skip filler, and switch to the manga around the chapter 500 mark, when the scans aren't complete shit anymore. The first 8 or so volumes of the manga are alright so you could also go manga > anime > manga.
>>
>>134643331
They're alright. Valshe's cover of opening 16 should be used in a future opening/ending.
>>
>>134643331
I hope you're not shitting on the perfection that is Nazo, anon.
>>
>>134640392
Both are shit

Go with Kindaichi manga
>>
>>134643900
I very much like the original Nazo and I think the original Unmei no roulette mawashite was probably in the top 3 of openings. I really just dont want to see them rehashed.

>>134643772
The only undisputedly good cover would be a cover of opening 1 used as either the final opening or ending song
>>
>>134640392
Go anime for at least the first 10 years, manga scans from that period are of atrocious image quality

Skip TV Original episodes if you want to go fast
>>
Shiho > > > the rest

Prove me wrong
>>
>>134648954
Kazuha>the rest senpai
>>
>>134643331
The thing is I'm not really talking about the op and ed but the ost during the anime such as this one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWFN2wAS2XU

and the voice acting for all the characters are amazing.
>>
I thought crunchy would have all the episodes of this series. I haven't watched any past what was dubbed but now that I finally grew into watching subbed anime I might revisit this series. Tfw i remember waking up at 5am before school just so I could watch an hour of this shit on adult swim.
>>
>>134641471
Detective Conan is one show where I genuinely like the fillers.
>>
>getting on board of Mr.Aoyama's Wild Ride.

I implore you reconsider.
>>
>>134640392
I don't think there's a country in the world with that many murders.
Not even America.
>>
>>134649791

Japan has about 500 murders per year, you do the math
>>
>>134649959
And he's there for almost every single one of them?
>>
>>134650094
Some cases have no murders, and lots of cases stretch across multiple episodes. There's really not as much murder as you'd expect.
>>
>>134650094

>trying to make sense of Conan's timeline.

You can't explain it without either making a bunch of them non-canon, or going full multiverse.
>>
>>134649959
Blame the yakuza.
>>
Conan is so fucking repetitive.
>>
>>134650267

there are only so many ways to make a whodunit. Blame the genre
>>
>>134650267

don't fix what ain't broken
>>
the body was found in a room that locks from the inside?
but how?
>>
so whats everyones favorite case?
>>
>>134650386
The one where they're trapped because of some obstacle and their phones have no signal. You know the one.

Really. You should know the one.
>>
>>134650386

The Twenty Year Old Murderous Intent: The Symphony Serial Murder Case.

Really did not see it coming.
>>
>>134650494
The collapsed tunnel/vampire one or the chopped down rope bridge one or the snowstorm at a ski village one?
>>
>>134650386

The trap pianist. Always.
>>
>>134650386
The Tokyo tower timed bomb one.
>>
this show really became a victim of its own success.
>>
>>134650560
You forgot the detective showdown one, also the isolated island one.
>>
>>134650386
the one with the guy getting his head lobbed off by a train
>>
>>134650560
Chopped down rope bridge indeed.
>>
>>134650386
The one where the woman blew herself up because she found out she was about to marry her twin brother.
>>
>>134650928

>not going the incest route.

Damn woman.
>>
>>134651044
Well, to be fair, she was infertile.
>>
>>134650928
Remember that one case where a girl killed herself because SHINE?
>>
Nothing beats the lady that killed someone because they threw a coat hanger at her...

Early anime originals are mostly good, but they go on a serious decline later on in the series to the point where pretty much only the manga based episodes are even worth watching.
>>
>>134650554
That one had an amazing atmosphere. Cases post-2007 ish don't have that same feel to it anymore.
>>
>>134641471

stop fucking doing this every thread

let people watch the series the way it was intended

stop encouraging this shit it's a long ass show whether you skip fillers or not and if people don't like the mysteries enough to like the fillers, what makes you think they're gonna enjoy the mysteries that are only just more plot relevant?
>>
>>134651482

Surprised someone else remembers that case

I read that one in the manga but had to google to remember what it was, the name sure didn't ring a bell at all.
Also middle Conan chapters around 200-400 had the best art.
>>
>>134640392
Manga, then the anime original OVAs & Movies.
>>
>>134650267
Funny how I watched 580 episodes so far but I haven't' found it repetitive one bit.
