I just read that the author was hospitalized/is sick, so I finished the final chapters I was missing. I'm satisfied with the ending, I'm even surprised he managed to close most of it that way. I was wondering if you guys knew more about his illness? What little I find in Japanese says of a rare disease, I hope it isn't.
Also what did you think of the manga? I personally appreciated Natsuo a lot, she's really developed as a character thanks to subtle hints and slow revelations. Other manga do have character development, but I think Teppuu managed to get me involved both on the psychological side as well as boosting the passion for MMA and fighting.

One Punch Man even got a proper manga after the Webcomic, and the anime is nice. Same for JoJo they tell me, but I haven't seen it directly.
Teppuu's merchandise after being animated might give some supports to the author to pay for hospital expenses.

I just finished it yesterday. A good end, given the author's circumstances. I think it could make for a nice 12 episode anime season if it ever gets an adaptation.

I think Teppu is great, Natsuo I absolutely love and I think she's a well-written character. One of the flaws I believe it has is that it has more characters than necessary (or too much focus on certain characters than necessary), though I think it's pretty clear that the author intended for the story to not stop where it now has and to flesh out both side- and main characters. At first, and for a long time, the only character I really cared about was Natsuo. Now though, I really like Sanae as well and have started appreciating her more. Just as Natsuo is obsessed with teaching Yuzuko a lesson (/improving her as a person), so is Sanae trying to do with Natsuo. Sanae was shocked and later felt betrayed when Natsuo went against her and beat her down (from her perspective, it came from out of nowhere), as she had trusted Natsuo and treated her like a little sister of hers. This incident is one that Natsuo regrets, one that she made happen because of her brother which she loves. Then Natsuo as well gets "betrayed", her brother speaks of what he really thinks of her and she cries, she has lost both the people she so cared for. Later, she says "I hate my brother", I believe the incident is the reason, she did it for her brother whom she loved, sacrificing the relationship of probably her only friend at the time.
It might've been that Natsuo saw her brother hurting her as a way of him showing his affection for her, this would explain her weird behaviour after she thinks of having being beaten or to beat someone up, it's a way to show someone that you like him/her.
After thinking and letting my thoughts go deeper and deeper I think I've started realising more things about Teppu, such as the things I wrote above, it's been kind of hard for me to put all these things I've thought of together comprehensively.

he was bullied and was pressured by others as well (like the karate teacher for example). It would make sense that he hit her because all of the stress and such. So yes, it was a way for him to relieve stress in an easy way and he did it also because of the inferiority complex, he hates her for being so "perfect" since everything she does looks so easy for her and she's talented while he himself has a very hard time.

Her becoming stronger than him was never a reason for it happening I believe, she always was stronger one could say. It was just that she showed him how easy it was for her to do karate and him feeling inferior because of it as he practiced it while she didn't (at the time she did the Van Damme kick)/while she was new to karate.

Pic has some examples, as well as showing Natsuo acting lovey-dovey towards Yuzuko, who we know Natsuo wants to beat up (there must be some sort of connection just like with this kind of behaviour which she also showed when thinking of her brother having hit her, which is why I believe Natsuo sees it as a way to show someone that you like them. A weird way that she learned from her brother when he first hit her and she who thought as a child that her brother had always loved her as he had always praised her. She was shocked when she was hit, but she kind of let herself believe that it was a way of showing affection to her as she always thought her brother loved her and because she loved him, which is another reason she led herself to think that, because she loved him).

Before Natsuo beat Sanae when they were younger, there were no signs of their relationship as friends worsening. The incident was the turning-point for their relationship and I believe there was no other reason which played a role in it.

When this scene happened I cheered out loud in my house. I read the entire fucking series JUST to see something like this happen. Wasn't worth reading this shitty, horrible story, but it was some kind of payoff at least.

No. Most mangaka who leave either die, or are never healthy enough again to resume the pressure of a weekly schedule or a monthly schedule (they would only produce enough pages for a weekly). I know that some make artbooks and doujins to sell at events, or get one-off art commissions, but they rarely ever return to the industry. Teppu is really good at showing exactly what's happening in a fight, what the consequences are of each fighter's actions, etc. It seems like that would be especially hard in an MMA manga, and the author did a great job

Natsuo is a terrible person. How does that make her a bad character to read about? Just because she's the MC doesn't mean the author is saying she's right. He just wanted to talk about something from a different point of view. To let the reader see a new perspective. Ultimately it's just a very introspective piece on communication, nature vs. nurture, and common ground.
I'll be perfectly honest, Natsuo has a lot of aspects I can personally understand. She's very relatable and well written. Perhaps it's the portrayal of violence and violent behaviors you disagree with. All I can say is that there are a great many people who feel repressed due to societal pressures about their violent natures and this was a very freeing manga to read because of it.
Pain is a part of life. Her character in the beginning is seen as "bored" because she has no real stimulus. I mean come on the first time she lights up is when she almost got her teeth knocked in. There is nothing inherently moral about pain and pleasure.

To be fair someone had written he has ongoing cancer, and that's the reason for why he was hospitalized as well in the past, making the 33 chapters come out in a timespan of 7 years.

Meguru is made by the guy who did Eden, so it's a very down to earth depiction of different people, just in a sports setting. Very comfy manga, except for the parts with the stereotypical karate rival dickhead.
Meguru is a chill normie who is moderately charming to the ladies. It's got better fights than Teppuu imo
