I liked the first two plots.
Kill la Kill-chan doing a vaguely tokusatsu battle against various super powered afterschool clubs would have been super fun to watch as she climbed her way up the rankings, started taking out the "Four Kings" and then beat eyebrows-kun only to learn the truth. That sounds like a fine series!
The story of eyebrows-kun taking over Japan in a vague Warring States parody was also super interesting to watch, with different districts fighting back in different ways. If she killed Oda at the temple the way she was supposed to, then I'd be okay with the series too!
The third one, with the alien clothing stuff was dumb.

The first half was pretty solid. Not AOTD, but very fun and engaging. It just sort of shit itself at the end unfortunately so its much easier to remember the bad than the good. Kinda like how the dolls in symphogear gear were 10/10 in the begginning but because they went out in such a boring and predictable way, no one really gives a shit about them anymore

Rewatching it now actually, it holds up better than I thought it would, the animation is actually really cool in that Imaishi "every-frame-is-a-smear" way. They hide the CG use very well as well, but the fight scenes do suffer from the overall low framerate.
I was very disappointed in the final arc when it was airing, it easily could've lost an episode or two off the end of the series.
Still love it for NO GODDAMN RECAP EPISODE
