I think it would be possible to modify Guldo so that he holds his breath, but has an apparatus hooked up to his chest so he can manually pump oxygen into his lungs. Notice I said "manually" as a machine wouldn't function with time stopped.
Guldo didn't really hold his breath in the manga. He just stopped time.

The proper solution is to have any matter or energy the time-freezer touches become unfrozen with them. This lets them move around normally and do stuff to the frozen world, but once time unfreezes to everyone else it just looks like there was a sudden woosh of air and a bunch of shit suddenly moved.

Guldo is literally the only character in the series with ridiculously broken powers like this. If he trained for 4 months he would have time bending powers on the level of Whis. They should've brought him back right after Frieza.
