>The character has a x scar on their face for no reason
>>134449423
>the scar is compleatly smooth and not an ugly bulging mess
I thought they did explain it
>>134449479
i have a really old scar on my leg, it's really fucking smooth but not in an X shape
They do explain it.
>>134449639
Is it discolored
Is is wide like pic related
>literally had his face partially blown off>the X is symbolic for the ishvalan genocide remember the 8 quadrillion, state alchemist
It's usually for a reason.
>>134449423
>character has a dozen scars and an eye patch
>everyone acts like he's the greatest fighter in history
If a guy has so many scars, I'd think he sucks at combat. Or at least dodging attacks.
>>134449735
>remember the 8 quadrillion, state alchemist
Middle kek.
>>134449766
>hating on big boss
Snake, pls go
facial scars are actually pretty fucking uncomfortable to look at.
THIS MOTHERFUCKER WITH A SCAR FOR NO FUCKING REASON
>>134449948
And its perfect
Like someone tried to chop his face and only got his nose but it was hanging off so they sewed it back together
>>134449423
>for no reason
you realise if a guy sneezes while making a sandwich and cuts his face is a valid reason to have a scar.
just because the character doesnt go around and ask every single person he meets "you know how i got these scars"like some edgy autist, doesnt mean its there for no reason
Is part if the edgy combo
>Death family/friends
>Seeks revenge
>Darkness/pain related name
>Highly destructive powers that turn his enemies into minced meet
>>134449862
Just his eyes
>>134449479
Careful what you wish for, realism isn't pretty.

Not everyone who earns a reputation like that gets the luxury of magically becoming the most skilled warrior ever before joining the battlefield, smart guy. It's usually something you get with practice, experience, and a variable degree of trial and error.
>>134449856
>Solid Snake
>took out both the real Big Boss and the decoy Big Boss used because he was a coward, all while Snake was a rookie
big boss please fuck off and go ramble on about zeros and ones

And I never claimed that. But someone who is suppose to be a god at fighting shouldn't be the most cut up and damaged guy on the field. A few cuts early in their life? That's believable. Dozens of scars and losing an eye? No, that guy just sucked for most of his career as a fighter or lost his eye because 'story reasons'.
>>134451013
Shit, man, maybe he killed the previous god of fighting at a great cost.
>>134451013
Say you had to fight a fucking dragon that no one has ever managed to put a scratch on, and you manage to slay the fucker but get heavily wounded in the process. Now you tell me how you'd respond if someone points at you and says "Haha, you must suck dick at dodging attacks."

If the show actually developed the character by showing that, then it becomes believable. But most shows that use the archetype of the 'tough guy with scars' do so specifically to avoid having to explain how he got the scars. Something like Rurouni Kenshin OAV actually focused on showing the scars is very rare.
