Read 7 seeds. Don't allow the shoujo style art to put you off, it's head and shoulders above others in this genre.
A couple others I liked but wouldn't recommend as strongly are metro survive and drifting classroom.
I'd rank the other ones:

Fuck the author, goddamn. I have never been more angry at someone arbitrarily ending a series with such a half-assed "I'm bored/have written myself into an impossible corner" cop-out.

Good taste, also >>134407334 nails it.

Eden: it's an endless world.
Slice of life manga about a solitary hunter living in a woodland cabin never.
Starting to hate all just now everything goes south world falls apart settings.
I rather like the world has gone to the shit already let's see how we manage life with the cards already dealt stories.
>>134404730
It's a bad genre, trust me.
>>134405264
Beginning was good, end was really lame

Saw a description for this and immediately thought "Lord of the Flies: The Manga"
Is this accurate or am I going to be disappointed?
>>134410347
you will be disappointed.
>>134410347
The author literally dropped the whole thing out of nowhere with approximately a month's warning at what feels about the halfway point of the would-be story, tying up virtually no loose ends and offering LOST-tier explanations for what few crumbs of the plot he bothered to elaborate on.
Worth reading?

I found Dragon Head enjoyable, but lost interest eventually.

That wasn't what happened, it ended because it was cancelled and he wrapped it up as soon as possible.

I felt the same way about it.

not really.

This. I recall the collective fury of the fans from both sides of the pond being directed purely at the author; if the producers really are the ones who shut him down, he did a terrible job explaining the situation.
Doubly so considering hardly a month before the announcement, the whole thing was slated for U.S release. I can't imagine a failing manga imminently about to get the axe would get published internationally.
