Is it just me or are the space battles in LoGH boring as fuck?
I get the feeling that they are supposed to be the most exciting parts, but they are all horrible to watch. I would much rather watch the all the diplomacy and dialogue between characters, which is easily 10x more interesting than the shitty space battles.

The S2 battles were handled really well.
They are mostly big ass ship in formation, nothing exciting mostly.They could show some crazy sensor room from all the ecm or something or the damage control team battling fires.

They are supposed to give a Napoleonic feeling so it is kinda stale unless you like strategy part. If you want both-good fights and strategy- watch/read Kingdom and The Ravages of Time.
Main focus of LoGH is the characters and intrigues. Battles are played as a game of wits between commanders unless based Schonköpf is there.

Are you retarded? One of Bittenfeld's most famous fuckups was him getting his Fighters(Walküre) destroyed because he ordered a sortie while his fleet above the Alliance Fleet. Reinhard even comments on it.

It's a long running OVA with not the greatest of budgets, so yeah. Nobody should expect anything amazing from the animation.

It's a space opera OVA, that obviously comes with higher expectations.
I think they did okay with the 3D aspect anyways, not great. Ships do attack on the vertical at some points. But the space battles are based on real-life battles and strategies.
