You know she hung around in Flora's tree house and apparently time there flows differently too, because Flora doesn't changed at all in 50 years since she gave a medicine for that old dude from the village when he was a kid. >>134166713
People were on the boat for so long, they can no longer function on land. They yearn back to the high seas, where they could do battle with pirates forever.
>>134165906
There are probably some anons who have since died in te 7/8 years we've been on the boat, and a handful might even have glanced back and though 'I never got to witness them leaving that boat'.

He lost Godo too albeit he died of old age.
>It's not like he lost Casca before or later.
He technically did when he attacked her when possessed. Any brief friends or anyone he met dies very quickly, its even shown right at the start when the old man and the girl in the carriage die. His current party is there, but they'll either split or die, i suspect Schierke won't since she's his only ticket to becoming an 'outsider' to the whole story like Skully suggested and partly due to Miura having a weak spot for kids
>>134169014
Cancer.
>>134171221
All those relationships he made while the black swordsman were deliberately brief anyway, he made basically no significant connections partly because he was still hurting and partly because it was dangerous for anyone to get caught up with him.
And Godo was another natural death, not a tragedy. It was a miracle that old man was alive when he MET Guts.
Incredible how low has the Berserk's quality fallen.
>>134171303
He also lost his child.
>>134171358
Technically part of the Eclipse, corrupted because of Femto.
I really, really hope shit doesn't go bad when Caska gets her brain healed (if she fucking does) because Guts seriously needs this, can you imagine how much weight will just fall off the guys shoulders if Caska is healed? Can you imagine how he'll act when she finally wraps her arms around him again? CAN YOU!?
Also how long has it been, in universe, since the Eclipse? If it's been a few years I imagine Caska's body will be out of training and she probably won't be able to provide much in terms of combat support if she does get healed and joins in the hunt for the God Hand
>>134171381
Then he lost it again when Griffith resurrected
>>134171387
>CAN YOU!?
Yes. He'll throw away his sword and the berserker armor and starts farming.
>>134170897

Elaborate, please.
>>134171478
but elves have no genitals
>>134171493
Either way
>All those relationships he made while the black swordsman were deliberately brief anyway
Doesn't negate the point that he loses everyone he meets one way or another
>partly because he was still hurting and partly because it was dangerous for anyone to get caught up with him
It still is and it still will be dangerous as long as he has the brand, and as long as he has it, tragedy will follow. Even if Casca gets cured, i seriously doubt someone of her caliber would be capable of standing up to apostles not to mention the mental strain that even was gnawing away at Guts. Inevitably he will end up losing her again one way or another
>>134171602
What do you think they use those long-ass ears for?
>>134171387
I think, going by what Skull Knight said, when Casca is healed it'll be happiness but relatively brief happiness. She'll be like Guts was 2 years ago: mad as Hell and out for revenge.
>>134171630
>Doesn't negate the point that he loses everyone he meets one way or another
It kind of does, seeing as he hasn't lost anyone else since he stopped thinking like that.
>>134171689
>seeing as he hasn't lost anyone else since he stopped thinking like that.
Its irrelevant, it changed when he joined up with his current party, and I'm telling you they're going to split one way or another simply if you refer to any previous case. Either that or he won't be human anymore like Skully warned him cause the party is putting a strain on him
>>134165162
Yeah I was reminded of Dark Souls after reading this chapter. They really do resemble the vine creatures from Oolacile.
>>134171802
Despite how often they've said "Guts won't end up like Skull Knight", you believe he'll still end up like Skull Knight? Guts' whole character is defying fate, not following it.
And it's not irrelevant, you're just ignoring it for some reason. His temperament, and situation made it so he wasn't connecting, both changed and now he's connecting without losses. Really, the whole point of this was to show that Guts could heal again, not that he must suffer all the time. That would go directly against what Rickert bitched to him about ages ago. His modus operandi is to stop shoving people away and to start protecting them.
I don't see why his party would always stay with him, yes, but I don't see how them splitting up should be tragic either. People come and go, they don't have to die violently or suffer a bitter parting.
This is a pretty good chapter. I mean even apart from the fact that they left the boat, it was pretty interesting, and the art seems to be good again. Also, we saw regular Puck for a few panels.
Also, I was right, time on the island is slower than outside, not faster.
>>134172032
>and the art seems to be good again
When was the art ever bad? Falconia and Batman Rickert had some stunning backgrounds and visuals.
>>134172083
>Falconia and Batman Rickert had some stunning backgrounds
They did, but I don't know, something just felt really off to me. It didn't really feel like Miura's art anymore to me. This chapter also gives me this feeling as well, but MUCH less than the last few ones.
>>134171971
>Guts' whole character is defying fate
And thats what Skully did too
>and situation made it so he wasn't connecting
His situation isn't changed, he still has the brand, those charms can only work for so long, especially now when the astral and physical are merged.
>His modus operandi is to stop shoving people away and to start protecting them.
His modus operandi is swinging his sword flavored with revenge, i doubt that making Casca normal would make him give up on it.
>the whole point of this was to show that Guts could heal again, not that he must suffer all the time
His situation won't allow it, no matter how much he wishes for it
>but I don't see how them splitting up should be tragic either
They either stay on the island, which i doubt Griffith will leave alone since its loaded with witches, or they leave it, in a world that's now merged with the astral one, meaning its even more dangerous than before.
>>134166139
>Puck the Jar Jar of Berserk
Pretty much.
I had hoped that returning to Elfhelm would show the grounded side of his character again, but his comic relief has grated on me ever since the Eclipse ended.
>>134172141
I think you might be projecting your bad experience of the boatsappointment onto the art, really. Not that I blame anyone after all this time.

>His modus operandi is swinging his sword flavored with revenge, i doubt that making Casca normal would make him give up on it.
Just wrong. Incorrect. Reread post-conviction. He's given up on revenge and sworn to protect. While revenge still remains at his back, he put it away. Put it in chains, in fact.
>His situation won't allow it, no matter how much he wishes for it
He's not simply wishing. Are you even reading this? He's trying. The whole reason he's trying is since he used to have this mindset you're claiming, about how it was pretty much hopeless so just fuck it. Miura could go BUT IT STILL DIDN'T MATTER IN THE END but that would be HORRIBLE writing. Doing the same thing twice by building things up and taking it all away should just make most readers roll their eyes.
>They either stay on the island, which i doubt Griffith will leave alone since its loaded with witches, or they leave it, in a world that's now merged with the astral one, meaning its even more dangerous than before.
and where's the tragedy
>time dilation
>it takes 216 years to have another eclipse
YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS
The party's gotten pretty big by this point. I wish they could dial down on the Puck jokes and give the rest of the group a chance to talk.
So if Guts leaves Casca on Elf Island, he'll never get to see her again?
>>134172504
Nah. I'm pretty sure they'll come out like 10-15 years later when Rickert has finished his Assassin training
>>134172504
I'd hate to see too massive of a time skip.
Got to see Rickert and Luca again at some point.
>>134171641
Do you think Skully intended for that to happen when telling Guts about the possibility of her recovering?
>>134172428
>He's given up on revenge and sworn to protect
Till he restores Casca
>Doing the same thing twice by building things up and taking it all away should just make most readers roll their eyes
As opposed to what? The power of friendship stopping 5 literal gods? Come on.
Are you seriously expecting some happy ending? Pay more attention to Skully's foreshadowing
>and where's the tragedy
The only one who could potentially handle themselves in the whole party against the monsters is Schierke, and even she is helpless if its a tougher enemy. The whole party's been relying on Guts and its placing an even bigger burden on him. The fox will probably have a hand in this too
>>134172567
holy shit what if this is what miura planned
>grown up rickert
"guts we need you to kill griffith, he's going to sacrifice the whole world or something"
>guts leaves
if he comes back he will be old and senile and only returned to die there
I don't want this
>>134168071
And flights of God Hand sing thee to thy hiatus hell.
>>134165366
It was 2005
>>134172334
He's taken up a mask of anonymity and doesn't think anybody recognises who he is. Serpico just sort of plays along and Farnesse hasn't commented on it at all.
>>134172567
Or he'll become an entity similar to Skull Knight
>>134172691
>>Till he restores Casca
You literally made that up. He's never said what he wants to do after restoring Casca. He intended to go to Elf Island to protect her, he didn't even know she could be healed until recently.
>As opposed to what? The power of friendship stopping 5 literal gods? Come on.
Why are you assuming this will end with Guts defeating the God Hand? Why do you think the ending has to be binary black or white?
>>134172631
Realistically, he might have just said that because "hey man, you never know".
But since this is a story, yeah, probably.
>>134172691
Giving up on revenge to restore Casca will/has put him through experiences that will make him realize that truth more. Instantly forgetting those lessons would be lame.
>>134171238
Sorry to hear that. I'm glad you could witness that chapter before dying.
>>134172791
Ah, forgot about that bit.
Shame they haven't done any catching up with what happened to them after the group split up. Think the Holy Knight would comment on his old commander practicing magic.
>>134173029
I wonder if he still believes in his religion after everything that he saw.
>>134172909
>Why do you think the ending has to be binary black or white?
Why do you? The whole world's basically turned to shit, i'd say it close to black.
>Why are you assuming this will end with Guts defeating the God Hand?
I'm not, I'm only assuming that he'll try and kill Femto at least.
>He's never said what he wants to do after restoring Casca
Its heavily implied, Skully also warns him that what he wants and what she wants are probably not the same thing
>>134172963
What else is there for him? He even notes how him and Griffith are on the same ground now, meaning he's still bent on killing him. Restoring Casca doesn't mean they'll go and live in a cottage somewhere, the whole world is now full of demons and even if they got rid of the brand its still really bad for humans out there.
>>134172504
>The band of hawks adored griffith
>Falconia pretty much worships griffith
>Behelit powered by betrayal
Gurifisu is just fattening up his next sacrifice f a m. lol at people who say he's become a good guy
>>134173225
A sacrifice for what? And how? He already has his kingdom.
>>134173115
>Why do you?
Do you know how to read? When I said "why do you think it's binary", my very obvious implication was "I don't think it's binary". I'll further break it down: I think the ending will be bittersweet at beast.
>>Why are you assuming this will end with Guts defeating the God Hand?
>I'm not
>>134172691
>The power of friendship stopping 5 literal gods?
why would you say this if you thought Guts wouldn't clash with them
>Its heavily implied
No, it really hasn't. You could make strong arguments for him wanting to stay put in elf island or go back to Midland. Hell
>Skully also warns him that what he wants and what she wants are probably not the same thing
PROBABLY means what Casca wants will be bad. Guts has spent around 2, maybe 3 years developing character and healing. Casca has not.
>>134173087
He was always guided more by "knights honour" than Holy See teachings so he's probably doing okay.
I just got reminded that back in Conviction they kept hinting at some terrible event that happened to him involving the people he was trying to protect in the past. I wonder if we'll ever hear about that.
>>134173279
Void still outranks him
