There's no denying that there is a hidden factor of some sort we're not being told about. "Actually you were a special snowflake all along" is a common thing in battle manga. Naruto was literally Jesus, Luffy is descendant of some kind of super special family, Ichigo is a direct descendant of god. The fact that Aogiri are saying they couldn't break in a second time means he would have to do it without being detected.
