Washio Sumi is the first prequel LN, set 3 years before the events of the anime. If you've already watched the anime though then you'll know the twist that Sumi is Tougou under a false name. It has Sonoko and Best Hero in it too as main characters.
The Sonoko After LN chapter expands on the ending of the anime and takes about five minutes to read, if anything else you should read that. It also drops huge sequel hooks.
The Nogi Wakaba novel is another prequel that takes place 300 years before the events of the anime and is about the very first Hero team, and its currently being run now. It stars Sonoko's ancestor.
There are also two short VNs that were released with the first and final BD volume respectively which contain some SoL events and occasionally some backstory. The whole first VN and most of the second have been translated. There's also the Vita game which contains almost 100 SoL scenarios, many of which have been translated. The first VN and the Vita game take place between episodes 3 and 5, while the second VN takes place after Sonoko After.

I checked it multiple times and while it is possible grammatical mistakes remain, from your lack of knowledge of the use of "they" as the singular gender-neutral pronoun, I don't believe you have the English knowledge necessary to question my translation.
You are welcome to add line breaks though, I intentionally chose not to because it takes so long and isn't really necessary, although it does look slightly nicer.

Anzu's back story: she was held back a year in school due to sickness, separated from all her friends, and spent the rest of the time until Vertex attack friendless and alone. Saved by Tamako from a Vertex while evacuating.
Vertex fight, cool super-Vertex, Udon has no effect (this scene was cool as hell), Tamako sacrifices herself to protect Anzu and injures her shoulder.
Tamako backstory: tomboy, mother depressed because she's always getting into fights and not girl-like. Was envious of how girlish Anzu is, decides to protect her.
Vertex starts running towards Shinju-sama, Tamako and Anzu use clever trick to defeat it.
