The bible is over 5,000 pages and needs to be studied, pondered, and felt, not just read like Harry Potter. It's a lifelong endeavor where you can only scratch the surface even if you spent the rest of your life studying it. Plus you have to read supplementary material from essential writers like St. Augustine, John Scotus, Aquinas, etc.
Scripture is uniquely different from any other text in the world because of how you must approach it.
