I'd disagree. If you get paid a flat rate by CR, then all that matters on that front is that enough people watch your shows on CR that CR finds it advantageous to keep paying your rate. Obviously you can increase your rate the more people there are, but the amount you make per person that way would be a lot less than the amount you'd make per pirate you could entice to buy your BDs.
