Characters that can genderbend at will and not giving a fuck who he/she dates are perfect.
It's usually gay because most of the time the guy who transforms into a girl accepts his fate and realizes he likes guys. I hate these types of gender bender plots because the guy seems to be so against it at first and then just accepts that he loves dicks at the end, which is total bullshit. Some cases like Ranma aren't gay because the guy doesn't change his personality when he bends.
This is a bad way to start off the thread because now it'll be focused on arguing about whether it's gay or not (it is at least slightly gay, because being attracted to a girl who used to be a guy BECAUSE she used to be a guy is not quite the same as being attracted to a girl because she's always been a girl).
