I've been watching anime for some time. I've used real media player, quicktime, windows media player, graxobolt, bsplayer, windows media player classic, vlc, mplayer and some other programs and rarely does the program make any difference when compared to other players except with subtitles. It's the codecs that do the work and not players.
At the start VLC might have been crappy but now it's maybe the best player available on multiple operating systems.
