First I'll mention this is my first post this thread.
It isn't very slow on 8/a/, it just isn't as fast as 4/a/. That isn't a bad thing, it's good to be able to make a few posts in a thread, come back an hour later and have a chance of posting again before the thread is past the bump limit or even archived. If you post something, it won't get lost in a sea of 10+ comments a minute per thread. That makes every individual comment have more weight, which means each user is more important and has a bigger voice.

That's what subs are for. Dub voice actors don't understand their characters as much as the original voice actors (this goes for any language's translation), so their delivery is often weak or even unintentionally comical. The raw emotion gets taken out, nullifying the impact.
As an excellent example, compare the sub and dub of Professor Shima's ravings in Paprika - the original sounds like a man who is enraptured with an awe-inspiring vision of a perfect utopia, while the English dub makes him sound like a cheap game show host. This simple change is enough to destroy the magic of the following scene by completely changing the emotion it was originally intended to have.
There's no such thing as a faithful dub, and therefore you won't really ever truly understand the real heart of anime until you learn to read subs.
It's not a matter of taste, it's a matter of seeing the true soul of the animoo.

People who espouse either as absolute shit with no redeeming features are tards, but those who view either as perfect with no flaw (plebs who hate nipponese culture or baka gaijun who suck gook cock) are also tards.
