After rereading One Outs, catching up to Giant Killing this week, and having AnJ as one of my favourites, I've come to the conclusion that series based on pro level sports are more interesting than high school level. There's so much more significance to games when it's not just about muh koshien/nationals dream, it's actually someone's job. Things like the fanbase, higher ups, management, sponsors, salary etc all become influential factors, whereas in high school it's basically just feelings and pride at work.
Any other sports manga out there about pro teams? Seems like nearly every popular series is about high school.

Diamond No Ace is actually a really good, pretty realistic take on baseball and does a great job explaining a lot of the strategy that goes into it and why good coaching is insanely important.
