Is this anime ever going to end?
>>134037541
Nope. Just enjoy the ride.
Btw Opening 8 was garbage. Song was ok but the video was just Conan dancing like the most faggot dance moves i've ever seen.
>>134037659
>Opening 8 was garbage
Confirmed sane. I don't know why some people like that one.
>>134037541
Has Ran found out about him yet?
How can anyone not notice or suspect anything after this long?
I hope they make the ending a movie.
Or at least a movie series with relevant plot segments.
>>134039118
The 8 part Black Organozation movie is going to be satisfying enough for me.
>>134039161
Organization*
>>134037541
Hopefully not. Its AOTS every S.
>>134037541
Not while it still rakes dosh in.
That said, the ending should be a season long case. If you have to send off a 20+ year old series, you'd have to go big.
Conan is The Simpsons of Japan. It won't end until someone critical kicks the bucket.
>>134037541
When Aoyama kicks the bucket.
>>134037541
Why would you even want it to end?
>>134039071
Some people like Opening 8?
There's nothing good about it at all other than the music.
Conan literally looks like a huge faggot through the entire thing.
>>134040683
>Conan is The Simpsons of Japan
Except Conan didn't start out awesome and then become shit.
Conan started out awesome and stayed awesome for 800 episodes.
>>134043040
They should either do
An alternative movie ending
Resolve the plot in the series, but still leave it to be the same set-up for future episodes.

2. Its a woman so of course she would pick the opening where there is dancing.
3. She's also ugly as shit.
>>134043121
You can't deny there has been a quality drop, small as it may be.
>>134043434
Well I've only watched 210ish episodes but i haven't noticed a drop in quality.

the 20th anniversary movie is looking good.
>>134043121
It definitely drops in quality sometime after the 600 mark. After the London arc, specifically.
Series peaked in 345 imo

No Kaito no watch
>>134045955
>Not watching the first BO related movie in ages.
>>134045155
Look at that fucking image. The author knows that people are ready for this shit to fucking end. So of course what does he do? Make his character give everyone the finger.
>>134046330
Speaking of BO related movies, I'm nearing the point where i'll watch movie 5. How does it compare to movie 4 which i thought was absolutely amazing?
We need more episodes about Ran suspecting conan. I mean, she's the daughter of sleeping kogoro for fucks sakes.
>>134046952
Irrelevant.
Kogoro isn't the once actually solving the mysteries, therefore Ran being his daughter has no positive effect on her deduction capabilities.
>>134045797
>that chin progression.
just why
No. it will continue until the author dies. Hell, it may continue even after.
>>134037541
Everything about the Black Orgnisation had been GREAT 10/10. The rest are just fillers imho
>>134048032
The BO and episodes where the crime is murder are the only ones worth watching. Detective Fiction for anything other than murder is boring.
>>134047186
Kogoro is actually a top tier detective when he gives a shit, Eri is also pretty good at deduction.
It would be pretty weird if Ran didn't inherit any of that intelligence
>>134045797
I actually like the old style post 96/97. Best is probably 2001-2004. Everything after that is alright but not as good as before.
>>134047186
He's a great detective, he only takes more time to solve things than conan

>>134045797
2002/2003 imo. That's at least when I started watching so I'm probably biased. 1999 looks comfy also
Alright guys, lets get serious for a second here.
Who is Rum?
>>134037541
The author has said the name of the leader of the BO has appeared in the manga. Go Anon find the leader and end this.
>>134050455
this guy
>>134050659
> TFW the leader's name is discovered by a complex process ofAgasa puzzling.
>>134045797
I can't tell the difference after 2000.
>>134050828
> Some sequence of brush strokes, from some sequence of words, from some sequence of panels will spell out BO leader's name in a humorous and unexpected fashion.
I-is this what hell is supposed to feel like?
>>134051324
BO Leader is Sonoko's father. Its not that hard to figure out.
Or its Agasa.
>>134052161
that is too obvious
>>134052611
It literally cannot be anyone else.
Aoyama said it was a character that has already been introduced and unless it was some one off character its Sonoko's father or Agasa.
>>134052161
It was Shinichi all along. He swalloed another drug to forget about his past to swallow another drug to become a kid to spy on the world's greatest detective
>>134052720
>and unless it was some one off character
you answered your own question
>>134052752
Aoyama wouldn't make the main antagonist of his manga a one off character that appeared once in a random murder case and then never appeared again.
Its an established character.
>>134045391
>Series peaked in 345 imo
This
>>134045797
99, 00, 02, 04, 05, 06, 07
Only these are good
>>134052720
Author also said it wasn't Agasa. Since the author also said he didn't expect the manga to last more than three months and Sonoko's dad didn't show up until Chapter 156, my money is the Father of the Girl from that kidnapping case at the very start of the series.
was she psychic?
>>134052161
So when Gin almost exploded BO's daughter and then promptly attempted to oxygenate her brain, they just kicked back a brew and laughed over it, right?
Yeah, that doesn't fly.
>>134052949
>Author also said it wasn't Agasa
See I don't believe him on this because all the evidence points to Agasa. He's basically trying to deflect. There's too many inconsistencies regarding Agasa's character.
>>134052161
No, it's got to be someone that looks young.
They're aiming after immortality after all.
>>134053049
Movies aren't canon.
>>134053081
Or Agasa wants the drug because he's old and doesn't have that long to live. And he's keeping Conan and Haibara around to make sure there's no long term side affects.
Agasa being the leader would be a gainax tier ending. Please no.
>>134053049
That was a movie, so it's canon is questionable at best
Also, they don't know who that was, just that they were shooting at someone who as Not-Sherry.
Unless you're talking about an event I didn't read yet.
>>134053125
But Vermouth has (apparently) already tested out the drug, remember she was posing as her mother for several years?
Agasa being the BO leader doesn't make any sense, especially since Conan has been leaking their info a bit more than he should ever like. Even if he's running a test on the youth-poison, is it worth the risk, when they could just take him to a lab and run it there? It's not like that's something they wouldn't do.

>>134053059
>There's too many inconsistencies regarding Agasa's character
Like what?
this episode was genuinely funny.
>>134053494
But he's related to a major character.
>>134053545
For one, at the beginning of the series he's shown to be a bumbling inventor that can't seem to invent anything that works. However, after Shinichi is shrunk he miraculously starts making tons of amazing inventions that work exactly as intended.
He's also rich but doesn't seem to have a job.
>>134053871
He's rich because he sells of his shit to ISIS or whatever terrorist group is hot shit at the timeIf the inventions blow up they'll just think it was suicide bombing and no one will give him shit about it
>>134053871
Even so, an amazing inventor wouldn't have time to be dealing with all the BO politics. He'd be a hired/trusted techie at best.
>>134053871
Most of his inventions don't work, but the ones that do earn him enough to live confortably.
>>134053871
We see only one of his inventions explode and then Shinichi (a confirmed asshole at times) says that his inventions never work. I think he was just being mean.
Also Agasa made Kaito kid's gadgets
you know, for a series this prolific there is hardly any porn.
>>134054285
speaking of kaito, is his series worth watching?

>>134043680
You're at the peak right now, you'll notice when the drop comes.
I remember watching 82 episodes and was really into it. I thought about looking how many more episodes were left because I wanted to see how the story ends.
>Found out there were hundreds and hundreds of episodes left.
I haven't watched it since.
>>134058477
80'ish was the sweet point for me as well. That's when the super archive torrent broke apart and skipped like dozens of episodes at a time. This was waaaay back when so I dunno how it has held up since, but I suspect the original seed is long dead.
>>134058477
Do yourself a favor and get to the 300s at least.
You missed the peak of the series.
>>134054563
>>134054771
I love how he does those all-cast stills. The old episodes with several characters, those were the best.
I know it's been talked about to death, but i really hate the fact that time doesn't progress in this series. A lot of missed opportunities imo
>>134059356
Time does pass, but in a distorted and non-linear way.
Plus, it would have been a huge hassle to keep track of a time line for over 20 years.
>>134059308
I just realized that if you rarely actually see the villain in these things as the main focal point.
>>134059356
I'm a bit impressed on how he adapted mysteries now that cellphones are around
>>134060792
Well duh.
If the focal guy is the criminal then you can guess it right every time. If the criminal is one of the others you still have to toss it up arround two or three more. Granted, being the focus then becomes a big "Not this Guy" sign over the character.
>>134060792
doesn't he takes breaks every so often to research on more mysteries?
>>134043680
Recent episodes have become pants-on-head retarded.
In older episodes, they at least tried to make the deaths tragic. Deaths have a more comedic tone now.
>>134045797
Post-2008 a best.
>>134037541
I liked it at first and when I finally caught up to chapters in a few weeks, I experienced 100 chapters of dragging.
When will it end?
I'm almost convinced that the real reason the anime hasn't ended and has so many filler episodes is so they can provide job security to voice actors who shouldn't be relevant anymore.
I don't think the main cast is working on anything new anymore. I do know that some of them are voicing characters for other long-running series, which I imagine are running that long for the same reasons.
Why is Ran such a shitty character?
>is a blackbelt karate champion
>has engaged in hand-to-hand combat with trained assassins
>is the daughter of a detective who frequently investigates murder cases
>often follows her father along on investigations
>screams like a little girl when she sees a dead body
>>134061454
>implying you wouldn't accuse the same thing if she was being nonchalant about it
Fuck off.
>>134061586
In that case I would accuse her of being a mary sue character. While that would be shitty, I would be less vocal about it because at least that's nothing new.
>>134061454
Context is everything.
Pretty sure you'd scream like a girl too if you saw a stabbed corpse drenched in blood somewhere you weren't expecting to find a corpse.
>>134061775
Whatever, to me it seems like you just hate her no matter what. I bet you are a bitter Haibarafag too.
>>134061877
Maybe the first three times but shit.
>>134062127
Remember time is iffy in conan. Maybe she hasn't gotten used to it on aoyama-time yet.
>>134039116
Because the moment the characters have to develop the status-quo is threatened and the narrative will have to move forward. When the narrative moves forward it gets closer to the end of the arc and when that happens the author will have to consider retiring.
>the boss's cellphone number.
Did they do anything with it in the end?
>>134062725
Nope, buried and forgotten.
This show was way bettertheres was a latinamerican spanish dub for this one, i have been looking for it for ages, and never found it
>>134061193
Remember when Ran or the kids would scream in terror when they discovered a body.
Even Conan used to react differently than nowadays, like life matters, now it's usually straight to the riddle solving, no big deal.
>>134045797
Damn 99 looks really good. 02 probably next to it.
>Sunday has Conan
>Magazine has Kindaichi
>Jump has no detective manga
They should have a detective manga. No, Death Note doesn't count.
>>134064067
They also used to be a lot more gruesome/violent.
Remember when Conan first goes out to catch this random criminal, and he beats hits him with the bat and then is about to finish him off in the anime?
In the manga, this sequence is like half a goddamn chapter. I'm not joking, there's like 10 panels dedicated to this guy beating the shit out of Conan with a bat.
When the Detective Boys go out, you know they're in for some big dumb adventure. Never again will there be some creepy drug selling librarian who nearly misses the chance to choke Ayumi to death with a wire.
Not to say that I want to see blood and guts, just that it's kind of hard to feel like there's any actual danger anymore.
>>134066758
>Not to say that I want to see blood and guts, just that it's kind of hard to feel like there's any actual danger anymore.
I understand exactly what you're saying, and couldn't agree more. It's not that we want pornographic violence, it's just that murder is ugly by nature, and by sugar coating it, it feels being trivialized. Remember how on very early episodes Conan values life and speaks about its worth, getting angry at being unable to prevent the shit that happens.
I guess it's not all the author's fault that the blood got replaced by oil and the sweet light tone of the new episodes while people are dying for our entertainment, but the TV execs and producers changed the light of the show to something not for kids but almost childish.
I remember on that movie about Miyazaki making The Wind Rises how one producer/his friend tells him about how the TV stations and the government order them how there're topics they cannot include in their works, and how there are more and more restrictions about what they can explore in the medium.
Why he is still a kid?
>>134067893
>the librarian case
That scene where the elevator slowly rises and it transitions from the dead body to him standing behind Conan has to be one of the creepiest shots in the show.
>>134048233
Maybe Ran has the potential but since she doesn't give a fuck about mysteries, she hasn't shown it.
Anyone know where I can find DTCP's episode 345? Kaizou kinda sucks.
>940 chapters
>still no proper ss doujin

>>134080820
No I don't read pretty much any manga.
>>134037541
Lets be honest here, there is no way to end 20 years of build up in a satisfactory way.
Aoyama knows this, and that is one of the reasons he keeps prolonging it.

>>134043318
i really love this opening.
But thanks to this video i am about to hate it.
>>134087895
Because there is literally no plot progression. Most episodes focus on the characters and can give them some development without breaking the canon.
It's basically filler done right
