Also, you'll notice that Coco's parents are driving from the front gate road. If you look at the map detailing roads that are safe, you'll see that the front road to Coco's mansion has been cut.

Basically 'ah fuck'. Worse case scenario, Coco's parents come back as monsters and mentally scar her to the point where she can't remember.
We've never seen what happens to humans who turn, so it might be shocking to see.
Also, both parents seem to be drawn somewhere, which builds up the mystery of the lovecraftian monsters.
Kuro doesn't seem to be in the box so I'm curious to know if the story will give a hint at why the cat still maintained its consciousness.
