Protip: you cant.

>>
>>134022547
>two hours
Enjoying Australia? If you're not retarded you can automate everything. Why should I take seconds going to a streaming website when I can instantly play the video that downloaded the instant it was subbed.
>>
>>134022689
Hopefully not, I want to know reason behind the /a/ hatred for streaming.
>>
>>134022547
>two hours to download one episode

What kind of fucking Netto connection do you have that you have to wait 2 hours for one episode?

It's just /a/ being /a/utistic.
>>
>>134022762
Have you never read the other shitposting threads? It's because it's just as convenient both ways, but torrenting yield higher quality videos. By choosing to stream you are choosing the worse option while knowing that it is worse. You are seeing the options of $19 and $20 and choosing $19.
>>
>2 hours
Do you live in the third world?

Hue hue?

It takes me literally 1-2 minutes to download, would be faster if more seeds/less leachers.

150mbps Comcast
>>
>>134022547
I don't watch things as they air and I don't want to have to constantly check for new episodes so I depend on RSS feed functionality.

Also I'm on Comcast and sometimes my internet goes down for 10 minutes for no reason.
>>
>>134022881
I'd hardly say it's convenient both ways.

One I type in a password and I have everything before me, including an ordered queue of what I need to watch.

For torrenting, you either have to set up RSS automation, which can be a pain in the ass, or you download them manually. MAL / AniList / etc. are OK for keeping track of your current watching queue, but it's not as simple, and getting Taiga or MAL Updater to work all the time with your downloads folder can be annoying depending on your OS.

That said, as has been mentioned, there is an absurdly sharp drop in quality. It's not even questionable. And I cannot justify any sacrifice in convenience for what Crunchyroll and Funimation are spitting out. Seriously, they just need to hire some damn engineers to actually improve their site and infrastructure, but instead they hire out fansub groups to improve their translation time.
>>
>>134022881
Choosing between instant $19 or waiting for $20, definitely $19, because I'm not an perfectionist autist and can compromise to save my time.

You can't really call the quality difference ignorable except by perfectionist autists. Funimation especially is really bad. Most videos have random green shit all over the beginning, and corruption occasionally throughout the episode. Sure it's watchable, but is it really a good idea to pay money for that?

You don't even have to wait longer. It will download the instant it comes out. You'll be downloading it at the same time as your streaming website, how could you watch it from them faster?
You're choosing getting $19 now rather than $20 on your desk. Either way you're getting it instantly, you're just too stupid to acknowledge it in one instance.
>>
As has been said before, what I'd really like is some sort of affordable, official, quality site that involves somehow downloading anime (I'll deal with DRM bullshit). But unfortunately Jap studios have no idea how to stay in business and would never agree to that sort of licensing deal.
>>
>>134023269

The difference between a 1080p stream and a download is negligible.

>>
>>134023342
>it will download the instant it comes out
Uh, no it won't. You'd have to automate that on your torrent client, which means playing with RSS feeds every season. On a streaming service you click a button and it adds it to your queue.
>>

>>
>>134023418
That's a serious exaggeration. Have you watched a Funimation stream? I'm not saying it's impossible to have a good stream, it's just that the current official options (CR, Funi, etc.) are pretty terrible. (Hell, I usually stream my torrents over Plex and it's amazing.)

Yeah actually pretty difficult. Nyaa has a single RSS feed (unless there's some hidden queue functionality I'm missing), and nobody wants to sit down on a Saturday and write regexes for their anime downloads. That's exactly the kind of thing you write software for to avoid.

Not everything is about intelligence. Just because I can write a regex doesn't mean I want to.

That said I didn't know about Shana Project, so thanks.

Downloading has been the primary delivery method of fansubs since the internet became a modern commodity. Streaming is a new tech and while it's good and noob friendly it has plenty of inconveniences like not being able to search across the length of the video without possibly breaking the stream. Plus a good torrent takes maybe 3m tops on a stable connect.

How do you handle streams with such a shit connection? I can download episodes in reasonable time but Crunchyroll barely ever works for me

Makes a good point, filesharing is how anime started to grow in the west, that's how even Crunchyroll got started, and so not only are they gonna they aren't gonna even recognize all the contributions of people's work because it isn't 'legit'.
