Fuck. Yes. F/KL has to be one of my biggest surprises in manga the last half decade at least, when I started reading I never saw it coming to this at all. Was just kind of a humorous, cute AU, with a taste of action, a genre savvy nasuverse spoof on mahou shoujo. And then it kicked into higher and higher gear and just didn't stop, proving nasuverse gonna nasu no matter how deceptive the start. Fucking glorious. They're really weaving in a ton of different separate areas and exploring the characters and ideals and somehow actually making it work. Can't wait to see where they take this wild ride next.

Well, that's what a good spinoff should do right? It should put the characters in different situations to shine light on parts of them and their interactions that didn't get a chance originally.
I do still regret that it's not ufo doing the F/KL anime though. Honestly I would have been amused to see them out of their comfort zone handling the magical girl bits, and now it's getting to be right up their alley anyway and would definitely have been a better use of their time then some of the shit they've gotten up to recently. Yeah yeah, not nearly popular enough to justify the budget etc etc., and it's not like overall what we got was that bad, but still it would have been neat.

Pfft, Ufo did 2x2 Shinobuden, Futakoi Alternative, and Manabi Straight amongst others, they're capable of doing alternate styles if that's the material they're working with. I see no reason they wouldn't have adapted to the manga look same as anything else they've done. Look at this, they'd clearly have been ready for FKL.
