What do you guys think of Soul Eater? I just started it over again and I kinda forgot howokayit is.
It has it's really great episodes like when Stein first shows up and reks them, all the episodes with Black Star vs Mifune, the Kishin ones, basically each one when of the main teams gets some new badass ability, etc. There are also meh and shit episodes as with all anime. I always skip the Excalibur episodes.
Oh yeah there's a different ending in the mangoes, right? Someone spoil that shit for me because the BRAVERY one is shit.

All I remember is that the school teamed up with the witches to go to the moon to fight chaos or whoever the fuck he was.

I still think Soul Eater is one of the better Shounens out there. Other than Hunter x Hunter 2011 and FMA+B not much else that doesnt suck horriblly. I enjoyed the characters of Soul Eater much more than the story though. The manga was a lot better though.

I liked both the anime and manga of Soul Eater, the anime more just because the art and animation were really fucking good. Bones' best show. The manga got dragged out near the end, and the ending of the manga wasn't much better than the anime

That's actually what happened. They never save Chrona, the ending ends pretty inconclusively. The courage ending sucked, but at least it was a proper ending. The high points of the manga were better than the high points of the anime, but the low points were far worse than the anime's low points.

I forget when exactly the anime diverged from the manga but I think it was around the battle over Brew, cause I know it ends differently in the manga and there's no Mosquito fight in the anime.
Also, anime version never has Final Form Maka, which is a damn shame.

I just hated how they treated Medusa in the anime. She was meant to be sly and have a back-up plan at all times, but in the anime they just made her attack straight on like an idiot and let herself get killed.

Actually, I loved it because it was a different take on the setting. It didn't feel overdone, the characters are 'average' but I grew to love them more than the Soul Eater cast.
Its not an easy series to judge in the first place, and its more SoL until the ending. Yes that gif with the horrible maka fight was probably the only bad part, but I suggest that you watch NOT before Soul Eater because its a great stand alone and doesn't feature the main characters prominently.
/a/ loved the anime early on and maka's voice for Soul Eater, it was a great adaptation and people mad about COURAGE didn't understand that wasn't a fight they could win anyways. If you want to read the manga, go ahead, the anime had spectacular production values and was one of the most solid shounenz in the past few years.
So please, give NOT at least the first episode. You can safely drop it if it isn't interesting by then.

I believe it was or atleast hinted that turning into a weapon is just something you are born with. Some can and some can't, a trait basicaly. Weapons and master's aren't that differant from each other biologically I mean, if that's what you're asking.

I really love the manga up through the Arachnaphobia arc, then it declines, but I never hated it. The battle on the moon was a slog month-to-month, but re-reading it makes it much better.
Ending is an abrupt tone-shift, but aside froman actual kissu between Soul and Maka, I got all the resolution I wanted. Chrona sacrificed herself. Black Star is learning to levitate with sheer willpower. Kidd took his father's place. Stein and Marie are gonna have a kid.I dunno, what more do you want?
