Could Kurapika's secret index finger be a transmuter type ability? On his nen chart it says he can achieve 80% mastery in transmutation (+ with emperor time he'll have100% force/accuracy).
I just find it weird he's never been compelled to take advantage of his potential with learning transmutation. It's his second highest ranked type after conjuration

The well-rounded enhancer shares the least with the highly niche specialist, so it doesn't make sense for them to switch. According to hunterpedia the possibility of a manipulator or conjurer becoming a specialist is 1%. That means the possibility of an enhancer is an optimistic 0.4%, assuming that specialist potential is proportional to optimum mastery. Besides, Togashi isn't the type of writer that would give his main character an OP special snowflake move.

If it's a psychological block he can overcome it as the story moves forward without it feeling pointless, if it's an ability thing I feel like he'd have to devote more time to it to make it work.
