It was so bad it's good for the first cour of the show, then the second cour becomes a parody of itself.

The second part is every bit as much of a loving parody as the first. The whole 'transferred to an alternate universe that's actually the post-apocalyptic future that's actually an alternate universe full of horny and curious amazonian women' thing is a legit sci-fi trope they're parodying. It was super popular int he west in the 60's and 70's, and popular in japan in the 70's and 80's. Permutations of it come up a lot in older mecha and scifi series.
You can argue that the 2nd cour wasn't as good as the first, certainly, but it's hard to argue that it wasn't the same sort of thing as the first. Hell, they even had a fucking sports episode.

I'd like to ask, do you think it was terrible because there was barely any of it, or the scenes that we got were terrible as mecha scenes?
Because I love the designs, I always hated the square looks of most mechs, especially Gundams, The RMs/PMs looks a lot more feminine and the visible artificial muscles are interesting as a concept. I'd say the action with the mechs was also pretty good, especially the transformations, or the melee fights. I agree there was almost zero content, but I found it pretty good.
