It's pretty self explanatory if you want an explanation of it:Leader of the whole squad, his entire team gets taken out and he finds out his waifu was killed far earlier and replaced with a doll that acted similar. Sells his soul in order to take revenge, and his gun follows him around pretending to be his waifu just to piss him off and keep the thought of revenge first thing in his mind. And he also diverts all his healing power he gets just to keep his waifu doll alive.
The series does get quite edgy in it's later parts, the anime is likely only going to touch on it right at the end though.

Goofy MC's with an edge side to them are the absolute best.
Those with weak morals are generally pretty boring and shallow. Moralfags at least have the potential to have strong conviction and force interesting situations because they won't necessarily do what's most convenient for them. The internal struggle of moral characters can be compelling, something that edgelords lack unless they develop into moralfags.
Obviously the best is being so moralfag your morals make you edgelord then moralfag again

The problem with moralfag MCs is that they normally tend to not get anything fucking done. They just hide behind "that's wrong!" instead of saying what could be done. Edgy MCs end up being more fun because they take a more violent approach to the situation and try to make a change.
Shirou as mentioned already is fun because he actively tried to achieve his goals instead of being a stale piece of bread.
I like goofy MCs that can get shit done when they need to. While Gin has a wodden sword he can get serious and bring out real ones to kill without crying about it.
