I've taught some fucking morons in the past. There are some people who will just not do the bare fucking minimum they need to pass, like read the goddamn chapter or quickly skim the vocab list. Unfortunately, I can't Ludovico my students. If that was an option, then I would gladly take all the responsibility for my students' failings. Taki asked them whether they wanted to be a hobby club or go competitive. They voted competitive, but it was by a small margin. That means people who didn't want to put in effort have to do so now.
Besides the fact that pretty much everyone in Japan is overworked and underpaid, it ultimately still counts as just a club he chose to oversee. If he's gonna spend his valuable time overseeing, he'll want to hear non-shitty ensembles while he's at it.
