As a character she's completely shallow, static, and her development lacks any kind of interesting conflict. The process she undergoes during Otori is interesting, but the lack of continuity in Ai pisses me off. She becomes a Goddess and finally gain the power to change herself, evolve, but instead she chooses to saty the same spoiled brat. She can do everything she wanted to, but choses not to because she's too comfortable being the way she is.
Hell, she couldn't even face the "Nadeko" she wanted to be without needing to undergo a mental breakdown.
