Nope. PSO2's story setting is the MC is a new initiate to ARKS which is their military like force. Then you get dragged into crazy monster shenanigans and crazy conspiracies.
The PSO2 story would be hard to make an anime of though since there is lots of twists that don't get resolved until ages later.

Fuck this shit. The game has a pretty good story that they could adapt. Instead, they try to get into SAOs VR-crap market. I was looking forward to finally seeing an anime adaption of a Phantasy Star game and it had to end up like this.
