That scene at the end of "Ganymede Elegy" where she's shooting at him but her hands are shaking so badly that she can't hit him but he keeps walking calmly towards her and then she gives up. Man, I'll never forget the first time I saw that episode.

Don't have a link to it or picture of it, but the proto-EoE scene at the end of Honneamise with the montage of human development and civilization was a climactic end for an absolutely amazing film. It's always interesting to watch through Anno's pre-Evangelion works to see how he slowly centered on and coalesced the themes, character motifs, and cinematic techniques he finally all combined together to make Evangelion. It's watching an artist's ideas evolve toward their pinnacle in film form.

Shinbo's direction + Nisio's dialogue = perfect. People seem to love the scene at the end, but that would be meaningless without this scene to get them there.

Movies were a huge slap to the face, everyone was excited when they announced that they would do more than just up to the eclipse, and then they stopped right where the anime stopped.
There's this scene in Gosick, the first scene where Victorique lets her Tsun drop a little;
She's on a train watching the sun set, it's bright yellow light against a dark sea of green. Kujou remarks that he's surprised she's so captivated, since Victorique has only ever complained about everything up to this point.
She looks somber for a moment. "I don't dislike beautiful things." She turns towards him, the Tsun defense comes back up.
Something about that scene always stuck with me.

There are a couple parts the anime left out which would have made it better, notablymost of the interactions between the king and his daughter which give a lot more credibility to the king getting so mad. Though I did like scenes where Griffith stares people down a lot more in the anime than the manga, and the voice casting was fucking awesome.
