How do the people that visit Alpha's cafe ever manage to bring themselves to leave? I'd just want to stay there forever.

Was it ever stated how long Androids actually live for?

I remember them saying that most male androids all died young, but what about female, a few hundred years?

So how do people feel about this, I do really like it, but I think I preferred Kabu no Isaki because of the world building. Her 5 minutes are nice, but it's such a small slice of the world and it doesn't feel like it's really building up to a bigger picture. I loved a load of the chapters though, especially the ones where she meets people like the bird or the store owners niece I think it was.
>>
>>133844840
The utter shit-tier end completely ruined Kabu no Isaki for me, even though I had been mildly spoilered on it already.

Just no excuse for it to be that way.

it's one of the manga/shows on my "rewatch yearly" list, so comfy

the whole thing is wrapped in a sens of nostalgia/loneliness/peacefulness, yes, that's one of the reasons I like it so much

>The utter shit-tier end completely ruined Kabu no Isaki for me, even though I had been mildly spoilered on it already.

Yeah, I was really kind of just lost and confused after I finished it, I had been expecting so much more from it and then it just kind of ended prematurely.

>Strange.

That's exactly what it's about.

Humanity doesn't come to an end with an ultimate battle or alien invasion. It just sort of gutters out like an old man's last breath.

Long time ago I wrote a review of YKK for a local anime club's newsletter that I'm sure nobody read.

"Pastoral post-apocalyptic" was what I came up with to sum the whole thing up. Well anyway, the club disappeared a long time ago, and I'm sure nobody remembers what I wrote.

I loved kabu no Isaki also. But towards the end it just got too weird. I was so absorbed in their world, and when they started dropping hints and things tha something was up, it really broke my heart. I don't like those kinds of endings. Having to live in the modern world as it is. Is bad enough. I don't want my fantastic manga world's to be thrown into the shitheap of reality too.

it still exists in our hearts, anon

but ephemeral threads that pop up occasionally are more fitting for the type of story that YKK tells, no?
>>
>>133849685
I guess so. For a while, I never saw any threads about ykk, but now there's one every few days, and it lasts a long time. I'm pretty happy to at least be able to talk about it here.

What's the best music to listen to while reading ykk? I tend to find it matches well with Boards of Canada (their lighter stuff) and CFCF.

anything slow and acoustic without vocals, like light country or folk, maybe some slower bluegrass

some ambient trance is okay, but not all the time

with a rainymood backdrop for when I just want to sit back, drink and despair at the world we live in

Ah, the usual evening for me also. That's why I hated the kabu no Isaki ending. It robbed me of the world he created.

Ah, I find it too draining to do that so often. Generally just once or twice a year during a seasonal change when the pressure puts me in a funk for a few days.

But a couple nights flipping through YKK, enjoying relaxing music and sipping something I shouldn't have spent as much as I did on takes the bite out of the real world for a while.

I've been letting this play in the background on fairly low volume for the last little while now

it works

>>
>>133851752

I just made a playlist of tracks from the Sora no Woto OST and some pieces from Iblard Jikan and the Clannad Piano OST's.

Kabu no Isaki and Kotonoba Drive I always listen to Agalia:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hIEIkDBoYY

It just feels so right and calming but yet mysterious. It was especially lovely listening to it whilst reading the chapter of Kabu no Isaki where they were flying trough the narrow valley.
>>
>>133854661
>Kotonoba Drive
I'm reading positioN now. It okay but too vignette-focused. Is kotonoba better?
>>
>>133854791

I didn't know about position, but after reading the synopsis it sounds pretty much the same as Kotonoba Drive but Kotonoba drive is also vignette focused, so I don't think you'll enjoy it that much, that's the same reason I don't like it as much as YKK and Kabu no Isaki, I prefer the story to build the world and add to the bigger picture, Kotonoba Drive doesn't really do that, it's just small mostly unrelated snippets.
>>
>>133852381

>folk

I love folk, but I just can't read YKK while listening to any music with vocals.

If I could though, I'd totally listen to Dream River that would be incredibly comfy.

I don't understand, but that feels like an insult to the series so I must reply angrily and demand an explanation.
>>
>>133857395
are you really this dense?
>>
>>133857449
the final panel could mean any one of a number of things, and given there's no other context as to the through process of the image's creator, it's natural to assume the more negative of the possible meanings

I literally have nothing else to talk about or do right now, just waiting for laundry to finish
>>
>>133856633

I can understand why people think this, but if they think that's all the series is then they've missed the point. Once they accept that transience that nothing lasts forever, then you can truly enjoy all the little things and special moments, I can only see something thinking that it's just counting down to death if they read it and didn't understand the message.
