Because the Zune had a great industrial design. That particular model, the Zune HD, had the precursor to the current Metro UI used in Windows 8, 10, and Phone 8, but it was a lot cleaner and a lot more customizable.

I only remember it being around $150 or so? I bought one at launch and it's still my go-to media player. It's got 32gb storage, which is TWICE what my Samsung Galaxy S5 has, and lets me store my anime music, anime videos, and other stuff without any complaints.
I seriously wish there were a Windows or Android phone with that body design. It's nice, sleek, and small.
