The animation in the monogatari series is average, but the art and sound direction are phenomenal.

At least, it's one of the few studios that does more than just adapt but also add a lot of stylistic elements. Between KyoAni that converts everything to the 2012 KY style, Madhouse that does nothing more than a simple copy/paste of the original material with pretty animation, BONES who fucks almost everything up with QUALITY, Whitefox who doesn't improve at all, SHAFT is a sure value.
If only they came back to the artistic direction of Bake, that would be nice.
