The problem with LSD is that your mind wanders off, so if nothing happens for a while you'll space out.
I find Bakemonogatari to be great to watch because there's always something happening, imagery shifts and there's always someone talking to keep your mind occupied. Also anything negative or scary might feel unpleasant, Bakemonogatari is nearly always positive.
FLCL was also pretty good, mainly its style and sound track.
Though the best thing you can do on LSD is to watch the intro/endings to series. The Space Dandy OP is glorious, and the ED to Shinsekai Yori is pretty damn good.
