They've skipped some arcs and standalones already. Really depends on how long this series will be. When the third cour started they sounded like it wasn't really planned from the start, but the popularity caused the powers that be to greenlight it. So if this series keeps being popular, it might go on for quite a bit and we'll see those chapters they skipped animated. If not, they might stop after the fourth cour, maybe even after the Shogun Assassination arc.

The SA arc is pretty much a point of no return though, doing any comedic arc after that shit would be pretty jarring even for this series. Honestly it feels like Sorachi's looking to wrapping the series up.

What are the chances of them animating Farewell Shinsengumi Arc after this? Honestly, if they take 9 episodes per arc, they could wrap up this series with a full 52 episodes and quit there. That's what's gonna happen, isn't it? Fuck...I really liked having Gintama back on every week.

The official Otsu fan club arc is great, the episode where the Shinsengumi try to seduce her is the funniest part of the series in my opinion.

That's the thing though, the SA arc, FS arc and whatever the current Gintama in space arc is called are linked so hard that it wouldn't really make sense to put other content in between them. I'd say that it's a shame for other arcs to not get animated but I feel that the anime's been pretty lackluster ever since season 3 started.

I don't think that's likely, even if they made it fit somewhere between this next arc and the Shinsengumi one. Banrise got shit pretty recently for that SM Shinpachi episode, so two or three episodes in Hooker Central with the MC boning grannies would probably be too risque.

I greatly enjoyed everything up through the Farewell Shinsengumi arc. I decided I had enough around the time they met once her name from the Kiheitai the truth about the world and the space pirates or whatever was revealed. Shit was just getting to stupid.
