OPM is going to become an expensive license for overseas distribution. I don't know if the jp publisher had an existing partnership with a western distributor (which is often the case), because that would mean the franchise is stillborn and has no hope of achieving any meaningful level of market penetration. If it's still open to bidding, then you can be sure the likes of Cartoon Network and Netflix would be bidding to see exclusive rights for it.
