Not just the anime, the confirmation that the manga would mostly play out the same. So people couldn't even hope that the manga would turn out significantly differently. All I can hope for now is that Takahiro will rehash the ending to a much better series (Yuuki Yuuna) and have Akame and Mine hook up.
